COST COMPARISON TABLE TO SHOW PRICE OF HEATING YOUR HOUSE PER KILOWAT HOUR USING VARIOUS FUELS AVAILABLE (February 2009)

Since it is difficult to compare the cost of various heating options, i.e. 1 Litre of oil versus 2 baskets of logs, the most accurate way seems to be to compare the cost of generating 1KW of heat using the various fuels available.  This comparison does not take into account the green credentials of fuel, CO2 emissions during production or the efficiency of production methods.
